About us

A Wayuu tourism company

We are a company created in Los Flamencos Fauna and Flora Sanctuary, in the small village of Camarones, which is part of Riohacha, the capital of La Guajira. We were born with the aim of strengthening our initiatives to care for the environment and safeguard our culture through sustainable and ethical tourism activities. We are part of the Birding Guajira Association, and recognized globally for our knowledge of the biodiversity of the northern area of Colombia and of our culture.

Meet José Luis Pushaina

José Luis is a leader of the Wayuú community, an native culture of La Guajira peninsula and Venezuela. He knows this territory very well and, especially, its birds. His fame in the birding world is due to his ability to find the best corners to observe the rarest and most representative endemic species of the region. He is an environmental engineer specialized in tourism and ornithology, and participates actively in the development of his community and in numerous projects to protect Los Flamencos Sanctuary, where he has led the creation of the Birding Guajira Association, made up of young Wayuu people who have prepared to be local birding guides.
